Little Nest Nursery

Our Rooms!

At Little Nest Nursery, we know how overwhelming it is when your little one first starts nursery. Understandably, you’ve got a million questions about your child’s health, safety, and day-to-day activities.

That’s why we’ve designed a settling in procedure that makes the transition as smooth as possible.

A good settling in process is meant to bridge the gap between home and nursery and will help both you and your child adjust to spending time apart.

At our nursery we offer parents 3 settling in sessions as standard, but more can be requested if needed. The first session usually lasts for an hour, and we would ask you to stay with your child. The first session is about you and your child getting used to the nursery environment and getting to know the staff team who will be working with your child.

Settling in sessions are an opportunity for us to learn more about your child and what their interests and needs are. This allows our staff to understand how best to support them, during their time at nursery. We find this makes the settling in process much easier for both parents and children.

The remaining sessions tend to be longer to support your child in getting used to the nursery environment for extended periods of time. During these sessions, we would ask that you try to leave your child for as long as possible so that they become comfortable with being separated from you. Parents are welcome to keep in touch as often as they need to during this process, as we understand that separation can be difficult for you as well as your child.

Nursery Show-Arounds

We welcome prospective parents to visit the Nursery during the day to see both our Nursery environment first-hand and to experience the children in each room setting in situ.

We will do all we can to accommodate the most suitable time for you to visit, whether that be during the day or early evening. We normally need no more than 24 hours’ notice but have been known to show families around who have just happened to call in as they were passing!

Baby Room – Snuggle Nest

Our Baby Room offers a calm, homely, fun, and loving environment in which your little one can grow and thrive.

It cannot be underestimated how quickly your child grows at this age. With their development comes the need to move and explore, making life an adventure playground.

At this age, your child’s rapid physical growth is accompanied by an intense sensitivity to language. Long before your child has spoken their first words, he or she has developed a love for hearing people talking, with a special excitement when that discussion is about them and their discoveries.

This is a general guide to our daily routine; it is however dependent on each individual child’s needs and therefore we can be flexible.

Toddlers – Little Acorns

Our open plan room is set up in a way that aims for children’s development to take place through their natural curiosity.

Your child is now enjoying new opportunities for exercise and exploration, seizing new challenges and activities as their curiosity and coordination continue to grow.

He or she is starting to show self-selection, with relationship skills emerging. Encouraged by the attentive, warm care of the 3 Butterflies Nursery team, your child’s sense of self and expression becomes more prominent, while your child’s first words are spoken with confidence, quickly growing into a lively vocabulary.
