Little Nest Nursery

Our Rooms

At Little Nest Nursery, we know how overwhelming it is when your little one first starts nursery. Understandably, you’ve got a million questions about your child’s health, safety, and day-to-day activities.

That’s why we’ve designed a settling in procedure that makes the transition as smooth as possible.

A good settling in process is meant to bridge the gap between home and nursery and will help both you and your child adjust to spending time apart.

At our nursery we offer parents 3 settling in sessions as standard, but more can be requested if needed. The first session usually lasts for an hour, and we would ask you to stay with your child. The first session is about you and your child getting used to the nursery environment and getting to know the staff team who will be working with your child.

Settling in sessions are an opportunity for us to learn more about your child and what their interests and needs are. This allows our staff to understand how best to support them, during their time at nursery. We find this makes the settling in process much easier for both parents and children.

The remaining sessions tend to be longer to support your child in getting used to the nursery environment for extended periods of time. During these sessions, we would ask that you try to leave your child for as long as possible so that they become comfortable with being separated from you. Parents are welcome to keep in touch as often as they need to during this process, as we understand that separation can be difficult for you as well as your child.

Nursery Show-Arounds

We welcome prospective parents to visit the Nursery during the day to see both our Nursery environment first-hand and to experience the children in each room setting in situ.

We will do all we can to accommodate the most suitable time for you to visit, whether that be during the day or early evening. We normally need no more than 24 hours’ notice but have been known to show families around who have just happened to call in as they were passing!

Baby Room – Snuggle Nest
In our Snuggle Nest Baby Room, we create a warm, homely, and nurturing environment where your little one can flourish and feel loved. We understand that babies grow quickly at this stage, and we aim to provide a space that supports both their rapid physical development and their ever-growing curiosity.

As babies become more mobile, the world around them turns into a thrilling adventure playground. At this age, children experience immense physical growth, alongside an increasing sensitivity to language. Even before your child says their first words, they are already absorbing the joy of hearing people talk, especially when that talk is about them and their little discoveries.

We know that every child is unique, so while we follow a general daily routine, we always remain flexible to meet the individual needs of each child. This allows us to provide the best care and ensure each little one has a day filled with fun, comfort, and love.

Toddlers – Little Acorns

Our open plan room is thoughtfully designed to nurture your child’s natural curiosity, allowing development to unfold through play, exploration, and new experiences.

As your little one grows, they are discovering exciting opportunities for physical exercise and new challenges that help build both coordination and confidence.

At this stage, your child begins to show more independence, developing relationship skills and a sense of self. With the loving guidance and care of the Little Nest Nursery team, your child’s self-expression and communication blossom, and their first words quickly evolve into a lively vocabulary.

While this is a general outline of our daily routine, we remain flexible to meet the unique needs of each child, ensuring they receive the care and attention they deserve.

Our key carers also provide one-to-one time throughout the day, allowing for individual support and bonding.
